Our London, Ontario office is currently seeking a Sr. Architectural Technologist, and is requesting applicants based on the following:

Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Sr. Architectural Technologist include leading multi-disciplinary teams and performing layout and detailing on architectural projects. Prospective candidates must have production/design experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications.  The ability to independently coordinate the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design and contract document phases of a project is a required skill.

Additional duties include: establishing client and internal meetings and participating in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance; conducting design and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with Project Manager and other disciplines; coordinating workload through design and contract document phases to complete documents on schedule; reviewing architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines; writing / editing architectural specifications; coordinating and assisting, with affected disciplines, any addendum, RFIs, CCNs and change orders and incorporating agreed upon changes into the project documents; and providing, on an as needed basis, construction contract administration.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Architectural Technology from an accredited Canadian Institution.
  • Be an accredited Architectural Technologist in good standing with the AATO is preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of working experience are required, which should include experience with Canadian institutional and civic facilities.
  • Ability to lead a team and projects from initiation through contract administration.
  • Able to deal directly with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other design professionals.
  • Ability to assemble construction documents with little supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge with Revit 2016 and AutoCAD 2014 or newer.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, specifications and tendering process.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code and good planning skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
  • Knowledge of Sketch Up and Rhino would be considered assets.
