BIM COORDINATOR

 

Description

RDHA is an award winning, mid-sized architectural practice in Toronto that specializes in a variety of public sector project types including transit, recreation, post-secondary education, libraries, administrative buildings, embassies and Canadian Forces facilities.

 

We are seeking a BIM Coordinator who is both thoughtful and collaborative and who is interested in participating in the development of high-quality architecture through BIM technologies. As a key member of RDHA’s BIM team you will be encouraged to develop your skills and knowledge and to advance professionally within the firm.

 

Qualifications

A minimum of five years of experience at an architectural firm or coordinating Revit models of major public sector projects. The candidate should have Level 3 BIM and must be capable of working in a team setting. They should also have experience coordinating the work of sub-consultants and preparing construction details. A diploma in Architectural Technology or a professional degree in Architecture is required. Experience and competence with Revit, AutoCAD, Word, Microsoft Office, & Excel are also required, and competence with Rhino, Sketchup and InDesign are considered assets.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

The coordinator will work closely with Principals, Senior Project Architects and Managers to manage and maintain various project Revit models, build up the office’s Revit Library, and assist in the development and expansion of BIM capabilities within the office. The position also includes the following duties:

 

  • Lead BIM coordination for projects
  • Facilitate BIM Kick-off Meetings, BIM Execution Plans, BIM Use Cases, Level of Development (LOD), etc.
  • Collaborate with office leaders to anticipate upcoming modeling needs.
  • Create BIM Revit standards, templates and families
  • Oversee/supervise/assist with the creation of model files at project starts
  • Manage project files (clean-up, troubleshooting, upgrading, etc.)
  • Review and assist with integration of consultant files
  • Create/edit BIM execution plans and relevant office manuals
  • Answer questions and share expertise with staff
  • Provide in-house training and education seminars
  • Stay current with new and changing features of BIM software
  • Create, edit and/or model complex views, families, schedules or geometries within specific projects
