Job Description

The Town of Ajax, situated on the northern shore of Lake Ontario, is an innovative municipal sector leader that provides a variety of services to one of the fastest growing communities in Ontario.  With over 110,000 residents, Ajax’s rich heritage and culturally diverse community make it a great place to work and live.

Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure and Asset Management, the Architectural Technologist will be responsible to deliver a wide range of capital projects relating to Town facilities.  In addition to relevant project management experience, the successful candidate will be required to inspect municipal facilities and maintain the Town’s Facility Conditions Assessment report.

You will deliver exceptional customer service to a broad range of stakeholders (department staff, user groups, and general public), developing detailed project schedules and deliverables, recognizing the day-to day operations and seasonal demands of each facility.  In addition, you will assist in the development and implementation of annual and multi-year capital plans, in consultation with various departments, establishing priorities based on inspection reports and user requirements.

Your degree or diploma in construction, architectural technology or a related field, is complemented with progressive experience in architectural design and project management, including contract administration.  You bring strong computer skills related to AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, as well as an understanding regarding the application and implementation of Capital Budgeting software.  In addition, you possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  A valid Class ‘G’ licence and clean driver’s abstract, along with the ability to provide a current criminal reference check satisfactory to the Town are also required.
